Microsoft made it that way for a reason. If you turn it off, then things are much more likely to go wrong! Everyone knows Microsoft are the laughing stock when it comes to security.

Info to turn off UAC is here:

Wireless security password settings for the Wii?

I right now have my router set to WPA/TKIP, which offers good security and allows the Wii to connect to the internet/network/online. However, I want the best security so I switched it WPA2/AES. Unfortunately, I could not connect online with the Wii console, when using the WPA2/AES or WPA2/TKIP password security settings. On the other hand, my laptop was able to connect my network with WPA2/AES security. But the Wii can't. I have tried googling for answers but only found a bunch of forum posts, which provided tips that did not work.

Any suggestions/tips to get my Wii console to connect to my wireless network with WPA2/AES security?

Don't be afraid to get geeky and use computer jargon. I consider myself an intermediate-advanced user. If you are really good at using search engines, please post sources to.

I don't know that you'll get overly complicated responses on here. :-)

Nintendo's website claims that the Wii is compatible with WPA2/AES security, so in theory, it should work. I'm assuming from your question that it worked fine with the same router in the same place using WPA, but once you switched to WPA2, it no longer works.

I would suggest contacting Nintendo on the issue. I'm guessing they've dealt with the issue and probably have some explanations.

I thought maybe it is the norton security thing which has caused the comp to do this. so i went to control panel to remove the programme but because theres something wrong with the computer, the add/remove programme application won't work!!!! what do i do? do not want to buy another computer or spend money on a guy to come to my house and just waste my money. i also have adware which my friends recommended i buy but that was hopeless cos it made no difference! please help! is stopping me from doing my uni work and using the internet!

If you use Norton (Symantec) You need to get rid of that also. It isn't nothing but a resource hog and causes problems that takes for ever to try and troubleshoot. Also, Norton has a removal tool in order for anyone to remove it from their system (I say this is bad practice for ANYONE - the removal should have been included).

How to monitor my security cameras on a LCD tv?

I can remotly view my security system for my business from home which obviously requires a computer. I am trying to set it up so I can just have a LCD tv setup to continuasly view the cameras. I guess I will have to get a small computer and add it to my network with only the security program running but isnt there a cheaper and easier way to do this.

You'll need 2 things:

1) A computer to act as the video "server". If you can get software to put your cameras on a web page, you can run a web server (Apache is free, and it's what most commercial web sites use), and connect to it from home via the internet, or you can remotely connect to that computer (via the internet) from home and effectively watch the screen on the office computer.

2) A multiplexer or switch so that you can stream more than 1 camera at a time. A multiplexer gives you 4 or 6 (or 8 or ...) cameras on one screen, a switch switches between cameras at a fixed interval, so you see them one at a time. It's a personal preference.

Computer problem: When turning on my computer, i see program files i never even installed!?

After using my comoputer, i turn it off.

The next day i turn it on, on my desktop theres' a weird program-icon so i delete it and go to my add %26 rmove and delete it permanetly.

I never seen it or heard of those programs ever and never downloaded it or anything.

Sometimes weird "virus-protection" programs get self installed when i already have one!

And just WEIRD PROGRAMS installs themselves onto my computer.

What should i do?

I ran my Norton Internet Security (the virius-and spam protection that i'm using) and its not detectiong any problem.

Should i take my computer to the computer-fixing place and have it looked at!?

Computer problem: When turning on my computer, i see program files i never even installed!?

you problem is that you don't have anti-spyware installed. anti-virus only helps to fight virus, but they can't do anything about spyware, trojans, adware and similar things that spread widely. from what you've told, you got a trojan that tries to foist you some anti-spyware (that are of course malicious). a lot of malicious programs spread this way, they simply install themselves and then ask to pay for them. it's sad but this trick works, even if people don't buy the program they keep them, and you are right cos you want to delete them. i won't tell you that this or that remover is the best, here's a list of most reputable anti-spyware so you can choose what you like http://www.2-spyware.com/anti-spyware

Computer careers: should i study computer information systems, graphic design, or 3d animation?

I want a secure job in computers if there are any. most importantly to me are security and a fair wage and something that is a little creative. my college offers computer info systems, graphic arts (1 year there 1 year at another school) focuses on printing not design unfortunately (although i can get a ba in interdisciplinary studies where i can pick classes around what i want to go into) or yet another school offers 3d animation. i have also considered health information technology at a different school all together. i have like 38 usable credits in a music major i dropped out of. i just dont want a useless degree. i could see myself doing design web graphics ( i have a vivid imagination) but i dont want an 80 hour a week job and i dont want to free lance i need benefits and steady income please any suggestions for career advice i desperately want to get the ball rolling. im pretty decent with computers and a fast typist. all suggestions welcome thank you very much

Computer careers: should i study computer information systems, graphic design, or 3d animation?adware remover

It would be worth investigating the printing technologies (graphic arts) study because most of the high-end printing is very computer driven, and there is also the potential of getting involved in the production aspect of preparing design work for print. There are lots of job possibilities in this field. Go to www.gain.net which is the Graphic Arts Information Network. They have a section for students which contains career information.

Printers and production people work very closely with the designers. They have to be precise and detail-oriented but it is not considered the creative side of the industry. That would be the graphic designers. However, designers often work long hours (although this varies dramatically from one position and company to the next.) The production people are generally on a set schedule.

If you want to consider the creative side, go to www.aiga.org for more information. I'd recommend a good graphic design program rather than a focus on strictly web design because your education will be broader and will prepare you for a wide range of design careers.

Good luck!
