Norton Internet Security help 10 pts best answer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

I have Norton Internet Security 2007 and I need advice on how to clean up my computer from viruses, because even though I have Norton, I still get Pop-ups and viruses and the pop-ups make my computer very slow, and my computer is Windows XP. I really appreciate that. Customer Service representatives don't want to help me fix the problem.

i too think Norton is waste....it takes a lot RAM and slows down the computer....i use avast..unlike other antivirus programs it takes less RAM but provides protection against all known and unknown viruses and worms....the best part is that it is also available for free...it also has a boot time scan ie....scanning when the viruses are not active...seems great...you can get the free avast from the avast website

really easy, GET RID OF NORTON, it's a waste of money. Get avg free edition(do a google search.
for this get something like ad-aware put out by lavasoft and install it then shutdown after you get the updates. Start hiting F8 before the xp logo comes up to go into safe mode but when the option come up and hit F8 go to the option safe mode with networking so you still have internet access in case you need to look up how to manuly remove something. then is another option of going to start and click run and type msconfig then pressing ok and turn everything off under start up. then running your scan ethier way
It's really simple:

Step 1: Make sure that Norton is up to date.

Step 2: Visit the Google Pack website, and use it to download Spyware Doctor.

Step 3: Download and install ThreatFire.

Step 4: Make sure to use Mozilla's Firefox from here on out. Also, install the Adblock Plus add-on for it.

This is just a quick summary of what you should do/install. For other recommended programs, and their optimal settings, and what scanning methods to use, visit my guide here
