What is a good replacement for Norton Internet Security?

I hate Norton Internet Security! It seems like nothing but problems for my computer. Are there some good free downloads that I could replace it with? I heard that if I download something else it will automatically cancel out Norton. Is that true and what would you recommend? Thanks so much!

My son installed Trend Micro PC-cillin for me on this computer. It appears to be so much better than the previous Norton and Mcafee that I used.

There are a number of very good tools, many of which are free, that may suit your needs. McAfee has already been mentioned and I agree, it is an excellent tool. You may also want to check in to ZoneAlarm. I used it for years and really liked it. It was, in my opinion, worth the extra money to get the pro version. Kerio, Agnitum Outpost, Sygate, R-Firewall, and Ghostwall are also quite good. I would recommend trying ZoneAlarm first and see if it suits your needs. If not, try one of the other choices listed above.
