I bought Norton 360 all in one security to rid a virus, but after installing it my computer is incredibly slow could this mean I still have a virus? If so, what can I do to get rid of it on my own. Symantec Norton Inc. wanted to charge $99.00 to rid the virus. Is there some place cheaper?
Does Norton 360 all in one security get rid of a virus? If not what software can I get to rid it?avast
Yes Norton Antivirus which is included in Norton All in One security should remove a virus, or at least it should if you run a complete system scan. The problem is that its a fairly large suite of programs that consumes a lot of system resources. So your computer will seem slower when Norton is running than before you installed Norton.
You might also try using Trend Micro's free online malware scanner, Housecall and see if that removes it.

Run both of these on-line scans. Both are free and excellent at detecting and removing malware free of charge. There is no need to un-install your current protections before using these.
1. Scan for virus, worms, dialers, etc. and remove (free online scan, no downloaded program) with BitDefender's Online Scanner

2. Scan for trojans, adware, cookies, and spyware and remove (free online scan, no downloaded program) with Ewido Online Scanner ( now known as AVG Anti-Spyware). This is NOT the same as AVG Anti-Virus.

These scans will take quite a bit of time. The time is necessary to clean-up an infected computer.
Good luck.
