My Fujitsu Siemens Laptop appears to freeze after 60 minutes use, I get a blue screen of death and computer restarts asking me to insert boot disc.
If I leave the computer for a while it restarts OK. but switches off again.
When I do insert boot disc it says it cant find a hard drive during an XP repair.
I have reformatted the computer and inserted a new hard drive.
I'm using Norton Internet Security 2006
Problem still exists with Battery removed and using just external power lead
Any ideas ??????????

Ok, if I were to assume you're a client of mine, and I was there personally working on your laptop, here's what I'd be checking for...
1. Make certain that your hard drive is recognized in the BIOS setup.
2. Boot up the laptop into Safe Mode to see if it'll stay on. If it does, then there's a software conflict of some type happening. If it still does it Safe Mode, then I'd suggest hardware problem.
3. If the computer stays on in Safe Mode past the 60 minute mark, then I'd start looking for anything that might have been installed in the last couple of days that might coincide with your computer starting to shut down. Uninstall any drivers that might have been put in place. Or, if so inclined, do a System Restore back to an available date where you know your computer was working fine.
If your laptop still powered itself off in Safe Mode, and it appears to be a hardware issue, then, unfortunately, it'll have to be serviced by an authorized technician.
Hope this saves you some time!
Laptop mouse pointer freezes and computer powers down??antivirus protection
sounds like your hard drive is about to crash back up everything and get a new hard drive
has your laptop ever been opened? if yes, try to see if the cpu fan is connected and working. it looks like it's overheated.
