My wife's computer cannot log in to any webpages?

Using Internet Explorer 6 (sad, i know, but she's a creature of habit) we can look at various webpages, but the moment we go to log in to anything (e-mail, ebay account, facebook account, autotrader saved searches, etc.) we get Page Cannot Be Displayed, and very quickly, like the computer's not even trying to find the page.

128 bit security is enabled, SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0 and PCT 1.0 are all enabled.

I'm stumped.

All the items you are listing use secure socket layers to encrypt the passwords you type/send. Checking that the secure socket layer is there was good, but you also have to have the sites in your trusted sites folder.

Look at the address bar when you go to log on and get the blank screen. Copy the web address such as http://www.usbank.com/

You do not need anything after the .com/ - if there is anything there. Now enter that address into your trusted sites.

Inside internet explorer, open the internet options page like you did to check on the SSL settings, and click on security tab. then click on trusted sites check mark and the sites button. Paste the web link into the window and click ADD. If you get an error message saying it has to be an https: address, un-check the check box on the lower portion of the add screen and hit add again. Exit the options screens to the main page.
