Why is my computer so slow?

It's only 2 years old. It's a Dell Dimension 3000. It has a 70GB harddrive of which 45GB are free and 25.8GB are being used. It has 512MB of memory. I have McAfee Security Center installed which does a weekly scan of my computer. I also have Spybot. It seems to run very slow, a lot slower than it used to. I try defragmenting and clearing cookies and temp. internet files on occasion and that doesn't seem to work. What could the reason be? Is there anything else I can do to speed up my computer?

Why is my computer so slow?

Windows fills up your computer's memory (RAM)

little by little and finally RAM is filled with unnecessary data.

Sooner or later you have to reboot your computer

to make it work faster.

But with ram boosting software which are free off charge and take seconds to download and setup, you don鈥檛 have to.

Try- Free RAM pro or Ram Booster

Why is my computer so slow?antivirus downloads

1...go for a higher RAM....can go for a IGB ...2 GB RAM...

2...defrangment your C and D drives....

3...clean up your discs and run the anti-virus scanning.

[ if you dont succeed with these option, as a last resort,go for this fourth option]

4...re-format your computer...but before you do that, see that you save all your data on a pen-drive
A clean computer is key to a faster computer. Run the 3 scans below.
