My computer is displaying an error message that say's my security is turned off? How can I fix it, it has worked until just today when I switched it on?

All you need to do is first try a system restore, you can do this by clicking on start/programs/accessories/system tools/system restore and take it back to say, a week ago.
This should solve your problem.

Place antivirus and spyware protection on there
I wouldn't be going online, it could be a virus that really has turned your security systems off. Have you tried an upto date virus scan?
if you are running windows xp. open control panel then security centre and see if it can be enabled also if you have a security suit disc make sure your subscription is up to date then try and re-install or contact the security company's help centre
d/load avg and run it , it is free and good , and see if that help's
also window's defender it's free and good
